One very accurate tip that something is a nut-case conspiracy theory and not true is that the person doing it is some nameless agency or just “The Government” and usually by some huge coindenetce it is the local government. (in you live in the US it is always the Webworm Logo Shirt government, and if you’ve in China it is the Chinese government.) Really if there were such evidence what are the chances it would be NASA that found it? And then it would not be NASA but some people working for NASA as contractors who were actually hands on with the data. Finally when we do find things in data the signal is usually not so clear.
