I can enjoy the secular aspect of Christmas. I would ask this mother, if she feels comfortable, to celebrate the secular aspects of Christmas while ignoring the religious aspects. This way, everyone is respecting the opposing beliefs, and no conflict should arise because of not cooking a Christmas dinner.
